Key Claims
Stoicism grounds mental tranquility in the ‘dichotomy of control’. Because external fortunes, health, and reputations are indifferents outside our direct sovereignty, humans achieve authentic virtue and invulnerable peace (apatheia) by cultivating self-governing rational judgments.
